About the Board

Mr Michael Wright
Chairman of BH Live (Leisure, International Venues & Events)

Held the position of Managing Director of Newsquest Dorset, publishers of the Daily Echo and Dorset Echo, for over ten years, Michael has significant experience in Sales, Marketing, Public Relations, Strategic Planning and Financial Management. Michael has a significant network of business contacts locally and nationally and is a member of the Board of Dorset Chamber of Commerce. He will be instrumental in moving the Board of BH Live’s objectives forward.

Mr. Robert Boulton
Chairman of BH Live (Enterprises) Ltd

As a former Police Divisional Commander for Bournemouth, Bob has been involved in Bournemouth Strategic Partnerships and Community Development initiatives for a number of years. He has 15 years of senior operational command positions and his experience in the voluntary sector include acting as Chair for the Dorset Race Equality Council for five years. Being awarded the MBE for services to policing and the community in 2008, highlights Bob’s professional and personal commitment to the community.
 
Councillor Robert Chapman
Councillor Bob Chapman has represented the Town Centre Ward in Bournemouth for more than 20 years and was Mayor in 2006/7.  He has always been an enthusiastic supporter of the Bournemouth Pavilion and recognises how vital conference business and the BIC’s contribution to business tourism, is to the prosperity of the town.  He has also been involved in many major investment projects, including the Pavilion Dance, the Pelhams Park Leisure Centre and the redevelopment of the Triangle.

 
Councillor Lawrence WIlliams
Lawrence arrived in Bournemouth more than 30 years ago. He was one of the original line-up at 2CR when it was granted a licence to broadcast in Bournemouth Poole and Christchurch. This was the job that completed a 20 year career in TV and radio before joining a local Advertising Agency as a main board director with responsibilities for Broadcast. He stayed here for 16 years, before opening his own Advertising Marketing and PR business 11 years ago. Lawrence was elected Ward Councillor for Littledown and Iford May 2011.
 
Mrs. Caroline Rosemary Darby-Jenkins
With twenty years experience in Human Resources, Rosemary has a wealth of public and private sector experience. This includes working at Liverpool Victoria for the past 4 years during a period of major corporate change and previously as Human Resources Director at a large Cardiff law firm.  Rosemary has a young family and is a keen user and advocate of the whole range of Bournemouth arts and sports provision.

 
Mr. Philip Dewhurst – Marketing/PR Consultant
Until recently Philip was serving as a Board level Communication and Marketing Director at two global companies, as well as previously holding the role of Chief Executive Officer of Saatchi & Saatchi’s PR subsidiary. His experience also includes extensive Arts Sponsorship and Sustainability work.  Having lived in Bournemouth for over a decade and acting as a visiting fellow of Bournemouth University’s Media School, Philip’s experience and interest in arts and tourism are particular strengths.  Philip served on the development committee of the Rose Theatre in Kingston, working closely with Trustees and was a former Head of PR and Marketing in the public sector during the early part of his career.
 
Mrs. Lyn Glass
Lyn has a particular passion for Culture and the Arts, having 9 years recent board level experience with Poole Arts Trust Ltd. (Lighthouse), the last 6 years as Chair.  A former HR professional with a major bank, Lyn has a keen interest in equality and diversity, as well as substantial fundraising experience.   She has been a local resident for 20 Years, and will be a great community advocate for the services provided by BH Live.

 
Ms. Sandra Graham
With significant legal experience in the tourism, leisure, sporting and entertainment industries, Sandra has also had extensive practice in legal work for licensed premises. Sandra has Board level experience and is a Director of Bournemouth Area Hospitality Association (BAHA).  She is also one of the few lawyers to be admitted to the Institute of Licensing and associate of the Institute of Acoustics.  Sandra has worked in Bournemouth and lived in the conurbation for many years and is also a trustee for a heritage charitable trust in Christchurch. She has a keen interest in Business Tourism.
 
Mr. Martin Kimberley
Martin’s experience includes working in partnership to promote health, culture, sport and leisure on a local and regional basis.  He worked on the transition of Active Dorset to an independent Community Interest Company and now leads an organisation which will have a key role in developing sport and healthy living within Dorset.


 
Mrs. Alison Logan
Alison works in the Personal Donations team at the RNLI, specialising in trust fundraising, and has significant knowledge of the arts and heritage fundraising sector.  Prior to working for the RNLI, Alison worked in social housing for many years, most recently leading a small local charity working with single homeless people. Alison has previously sat on the Boards of Westminster Women's Aid and Airways Housing Society and has also been a School Governor for many years. Her voluntary sector experience, as well as her enthusiasm for Bournemouth's community cultural and leisure provision, will be an asset to the new organisation.
