Summer Youth Dance Workshop with Gregory Maqoma for boys age 11-19
South African choreographer Gregory Maqoma is visiting the South West this summer for 3 weeks only as part of a Jurassic Coast Arts Project to create an inspirational piece of site specific work to tour in the UK and South Africa.
During his visit Gregory has agreed to offer a workshop for Whitewash boys dance company and other young male dancers from the local area.
This is a one off chance to take part in a 2 daysummer residency with an award winning international choreographer. The workshop will be tailored specifically to the youth dancers and will lead to the creation of some exciting new movement material. This is an opportunity not to be missed!
Workshop details:
Saturday 14th & Sunday 15th August 2010. From 10am – 4pm both days.
The Saturday workshop will take place at Lighthouse (function room 1) and the Sunday workshop will take place in the ballroom at Bournemouth Pavilion.
Please bring a packed lunch, snacks and plenty to drink for the workshops and bring your creativity and energy in abundance!
The workshops are free of charge funded by Activate’s Community Youth Dance Project in partnership with Active Dorset but it is essential to book a place (places are limited).
